Comedy Tegen Kanker is a comedy evening that raises money for cancer research. I volunteered to build its website. The organisers needed one place where people could find the line-up, the date and venue, answers to common questions and a link to buy tickets.
What I built
The site is a single static page in Dutch, written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with Bootstrap for the layout. It has sections for the line-up, the agenda, the location, tickets and frequently asked questions, and it adapts to phones as well as larger screens.
Result
The organisers accepted the first version as it was, without asking for changes, and the site is still online. The link is below.
What I learned
A small site for a non-technical client mostly comes down to understanding what visitors need to find and putting that first. Plain HTML, CSS and a bit of JavaScript were enough, and they keep the site easy to host and maintain.
